Default Dizzy Help

ok, i just ordered a new dizzy for my b16. heres the question
I know how to put the dizzy on, but when i did my swap i marked the position that the dizzy should be at(etched lines on the top of it) for proper timing. when i get the new dizzy, how can i set the timing correctly w/o my cheater mark.

Note which cylinder the rotor is firing. Then place the new dizzy rotor firing the same cylinder. Put the distributor in and you should only be a few degrees off at best. (when you put it in try to make it line up like your old housing).

But the proper way would be to jump your service connector and use a timing light to set the ignition timing

timing lights are universal. Just put the pick up on number 1 cylinder with the arrow (if there is one) facing towards the driver side. Hook up the pos/neg terminals and set it to whatever spec it is (normally 16btdc)

dont forget, do this at operating temp, and with the connector jumped so the ECU doesnt mess with the timing.

the service connector, the one you use to read trouble codes. its under the passenger side of the dash, passenger kick panel.

no man. click on the ECU sticky up top, look at the part about pulling your codes, they show the connector. its 2prong connector.
