actaully i think it would have an even better purpose, if you installed it some where were the plate could flap all the way back up.
the purpose of this would be so that red light camera's and speeding camera's can't not see your front lisence plate, used in conjunction with no rear plate ligths or a cover that distorts the plate at angles this would render you unidetifiable to the law.
and in japan when the race on that one high way were pix of the front of your car are taken for speeding this is usefull, and then when and if you get pulled over you have your front plate there.
now im not advocating being decetfull to the law but this is what i have learened that its for

it's not technecly illegal cause you do have a front plate and there is nothing covering it up.. ( thats what the CA law states any ways though)

Re: (slammed_93_hatch)
i would relocate my plate off to the side a little bit so that way the liscense plate is subconsciously less noticiable b/c is not in the center of everything

I've never had a front plate on my Civic since I bought it off the lot new in 1999. I've been pulled over before and never even asked about the FLP. I would just say "it's missing? It was there last week when I washed the car!!!" LOL

Same thing here in Germany, almost all speeding tickets on the Autobahn are from cameras, so you hinge it so it tilts up into the grill, and voila, no more tickets
