DIY install a tachometer.
I got bored and decieded to make my first post helpful and not some noob question.
DISCLAIMER:
I am NOT liable for the damages or injuries that you sustained for this installation guide. Proceed at your own risk!
This its what mine looked like after i finshed the installation.
another look at where i ran the wires:
ok heres how the wireing goes
RED wire to your 12 volt power: I hooked mine throught a fuse splice in the fuse panel. Find your number 17 fuse and insert your fuse splice (you can pick up a fuse splice at your local Autozone or parts store.)
Black wire to your Frame (ground).
The Tach signal wire hooks up to your tach signal off of your Dizzy,or you can splice the wire to a hook up on your Drivers side firewall. LOOK its a blue wire.
{edit}
You will also have two wires that lights up the tach at night:
Red wire goes on the dimmer switch, theres 3 wires, splice into to the Far left wire( i dont know the color) this will make you able to change the brightness of the tach.
Black wire goes to frame (ground)
Hopefully this clears up any probs that anyone get while installing a Tachometer.

i dont get it, i hear that statement about cops but i dont get why a cop would even care about tachs.
Is it because i might speed or race people?

that's exactly my point. atleast around where i live cops are bored. anything that yells look at me (rims, lowered, spoilers, tachs, lighting, extremely loud exhaust) is most likely going to get you pulled over.
not all the time, depending on the time of day, and how busy they are. i just try to avoid them overall, cops and I don't really get along.

Strange, i live in a smaller town and cops, they really dont seem to care, ive ran with no muffler for 3 weeks straight, and i've never been pulled over for a noise violation. I also have neons on the inside of my car nad no one seems to care. i guess cops are just picky in some places more than others.
//off topic
also is there a way i can bypass this trial user thing? im not a spammer, and only doing 5 posts per day is gonna suck espacally since im a very social person.This is my last post today so if someone want to get in contact with me just pm me.

I'd say toss some split loom over those wires to clean things up a bit.
off topic:
With my 3" sunpro tach I got alot more attention not only from cops but also from street ricer/racers. The tach generally eludes towards work done to the motor and the fact that you've got something to show off/race. I'm alot happier with my EX cluster simply for the simplicity of it, but I understand installing a tach in a DX car....

W/e man its his personal pref. If he wants the tach, thats all him.
For you man. this thread probably already exist, but atleast you're not out here like most noobs posting all kinds of bad info. H-T need more like you. Even if you are a little on the ricey side.
