Default DIY- front mount intakes

I know of you FI guy that this a rice mod, but its just like a CAI only bigger and better. the ones Weapon R and other copanies make only fill half of the middle front bumper space. i wanted it to fill the whole space and that would give me more cold air? is it possible to run two FMI?

how is it better? when it rains, water will splash on your air filter.

People just remove the passenger headlight for that and run a duct.

Seems like a fairly good idea to me. Sort of like a cold air ram intake.

Then waste your time and money hacking up your front mount intake just to find out removing a headlight works just as good if not better.

Umm.. we have people dumped with CAI's in WA, which is the Rain State...</TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm dumped, with a CAI, in Seattle. But this thread is about having the intake filter right where an intercooler would be. Driving around in the rain here would suck up a bunch of water for sure. With a regular CAI the filter is behind the bumper.

Having the Filter At the very beginning of the intake would negate any benefits of a ram air system..... the only 2 benefits i could see would be...a longer intake track which honda tend to like...(why aem Cold Air intakes do well on a dyno) and the cold air....an eposide of Horsepower TV... when they had their project Honda on their... they installed a front mount intake...i forget the gains... but it also came with a clear storm shield that you count mount over the filter to cover it from the rain

just make a custom duct for track days and not run it on the street, or you can make a wannabe FMIC/intake and look like a douche bag

I really don't know if this guy is joking..........

Anyway I have seen many comparisions of air intakes and lots of people have proven that these crappy front mount intakes don't work, might as well keep you stock airbox, it's better anyway.

Dam, that brings me back in the days when I installed a duct hose from the bottom of my airbox on my integra and stretched out to the bottom of the car. I say you do what you want. Nobody here owns a Dyno so nobody really knows any real gains till then. I say you get one of them twin turbo set up like the one that looks like two intake at the end. You rig that up somehow, I see that happening more then two front mounts. I've done my own cold air for a b16 which was just like AEM. I found how to do your own using a u shape pipe on the net somewhere let me know if you need me to find it for you.
