DIY EK/CTR Brake Lamp Wiring
Can anybody help me out with this "simple mod." I saw it on a HT member build thread. Here are some pics, but I'm still confused about the wiring.

• Cut out the single bulb connector
• Replace with double contact pigtails (3 wires)
• Match the black wire and the red wire to there respective colors then run the ground and white wire to the brake and running light harness.
• Get your heat sink and sleeving then sauder and tape everything properly.
• Bolt your taillights back in and test them out! Both the bottom and top half should be running and also brake lamps.
replace this connector
with this one
Before.. As you can see, the usdm wiring harness only allows the top part of the tail lights to brightens when brake light comes on with.
The jdm wiring harness on the other hand allows both ends of the tail light to brighten when the brake is applied.

Re: DIY EK/CTR Brake Lamp Wiring
Corrected what might be typos. Corrected text is in Green
• Cut out the single bulb connector
• Replace with double contact pigtails (3 wires)
• Match the black wire and the red wire to there respective colors then run the ground green and white wire to the brake and running light harness.
you'll need to splice in the green wire to complete the circuit
• Get your heat sink shrink and sleeving then sauder solder and tape everything properly.
• Bolt your taillights back in and test them out! Both the bottom and top half should be running and also brake lamps.

Re: DIY EK/CTR Brake Lamp Wiring
I guess my question is, am I going to need a new socket and new bulb?
- The HT member used this double contact pigtail connector.
