DIY EG/EJ floor mat eye loop stay
Honda Access International has eye loops in there floor mats, why can't USDM EG Civic floor mats have them?
If you misalign theses and do not take your time then you are to blame, not me, Honda-Tech or the eye loops YOU CHOOSE!
Both front seat floor mounting rails have square holes for the plastic plug to go into so you can mount the floor mat holder with a screw.
This is a cheap easy mod. Have fun!!
Things you need
Floor mat holder found in 3rd Gen Integra 2001 3/4 door GSR Leather/GS Leather/LS
HOLDER, FLOOR MAT
83605-S30-A00
GROMMET, SCREW (5MM)
90662-SB2-003
SCREW, TAPPING (5X16)
93904-45320
Line the floor mat up and press floor mat down on floor mat holder
You will get an indention
Take a blade and make a hole
Now drill drill drill with a bit the same inner diameter as the eye loop
Dont drill all the way through, just until the tip reaches the carpet, then cut out your hole with the razor
What you will end up with
Take the eye loop with the longer shaft and put it on the carpet side. Then put the eye loop on the anvil supplied
Next take the other eye loop with the teeth and put it over the shaft coming through the matt on the rubber side
Line everything up with the punch supplied and hammer hammer hammer
The results will look like this

Re: DIY EG/EJ floor mat eye loop stay
Some people might not consider Floor Mats "Tech", But I sure had having them Wad Up around the peddles! Nice write up!
Actually have a grommet kit (they are available in most hardware stores folks).
"Hammer hammer hammer!" Lol
Cheers!

Re: DIY EG/EJ floor mat eye loop stay
I don't know if you meant to have EJ in your title, but all of the EJ* mats have the eye loop and the accompanying hook on the floor (at least the OEM mats do). I think this was a US DOT thing.
That said, we get a loop, you get a cooler car.
