I f*cking knew you had a k20 or b18c5, I thought why on earth would he do this conversion if he didn't have a sick engine?

k20, integra dash, 5 lug conversion, looks like you've built a sick hatch to say the least.

I think you should put a sunroof in thats what I did. Its great you have the lighest civic hatch body with the sunroof. Otherwise the hatch with the sunroof is over 300ibs or around 650kilos heavier. Put a sunroof in!!!!!!!!

How many DIY's have you done?

Do you realize how much more work it is to take pictures of everything during a project? Then to come to the forum, host all the pictures, and write out detailed instructions?

You Sir are a hater......

Oh, and I love the Eg dash.....However, this writeup is well done, and I don't think it looks "ricey".

OP gets lots of props!! Well done man!!

Thanks guys.
If anyone else has installed a DC2 dash in there EG feel free to post up some pics in here so others thinking about a dash swap can see.

I'm from Australia.
The dash swap is do-able for anyone who puts their mind to it IMO.

No probs, hope it has helped.

You may also wanna be sure to get the plastic panels around the steering wheel, fusebox cover, centre console, arm rest, handbrake bracket thats attached to the body. All the little pieces like that... You may want the kick panels also.

I also think its a good idea to grab the DC2 fusebox off the same car.

i have a question do you think it would work getting dc2 door panels and cutting out the foam that meets the dash and then just glue/tape etc. it to the eg door panel for a cleaner fit??

I'm not sure what you mean here? Do you mean the door vinyl?
I think it would be hard to cut that and get it fit cleanly on the EG trim.

The DC2 door trims are different in size to the EG door and wont fit, i have seen people use both trims and fibreglass them together for a real DC2 interior look.

That is beyond me though.

Do you have a DC2 and EG manual?

Compare the two.
I havent looked at the sunroof as i dont have it myself.

Pretty sure there is info in the other DC2 dash FAQ link in post #1 on sunroof wiring.

I thought of a way to remove the gaps on the side. Would be quiet a task though...
If i ever do the dash swap again i would think about attempting it.

You could get some cardboard. Draw up the gap, remove the dash. Get some thin sheetmetal and cut it to size via the cardboard template. Weld it up, grind, fill, paint. Then the Door seal should sit flush with the dash.

Although my EG hatch has the stock dash and I like it with the double din audio console, i can appreciate the time it took to do a swap like that. Looks good.

Thanks for all the feedback.
If i were to do it over again i would attempt to weld something in place along the inner of the door frame to cover the small gaps and pay a proffesional to modify the door trims.

I havent really driven the car enough to get a good feel for the paint on it.

When i first touched it it felt as though it was not going to last.

It was simple to pull off and paint whilst i was doing the other parts.. I would like get an aftermarket steering wheel in black for it eventually. Im sure for the short term it will do the job.

If the steering wheel is old, hard and cracked i doubt it would last too long at all.
