Icon4 DIY Clutch Job Emergency!

Hi guys and gals, first time posting, long time reading.

I have a 2000 Civic EX that is currently in pieces in my garage. I followed the following:

Civic Flywheel/Clutch Install (58 pics)

We have been struggling to reattach the transmission to my engine after replacing the flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate.

I can get it to within an inch or two so, but it just wont fully seat. I have tried all sorts of jacks to push the engine up horizontal, semi horizontal, and drooping, but my brother and I are absolutely physically exhausted from trying to re-mate the tranny to the engine.

It just won't let us in and we are getting going into desperation mode from trying to get this one thing done for at least 8 hours today. What can we do? What are we missing? The clutch alignment tool slides in and out.

We are desperate! This is our only daily driver and we have work on Monday.

Did you try dropping the driver side post mount? After that a piece of some wood and jacking up the engine some you should be able to line it up just fine.

Also in your pic I would move the piece of wood and jack to more of the center of the tranny, about right under where thencasing bolts are in that pic.

Did you try sliding the new disc on the input shaft before you put the clutch together to make sure you received the correct clutch?

Assuming the clutch is right sometimes it takes a fair bit of wiggling to get it to slide on.

Why is the header still on the car? I usually disconnect the header from the b-pipe. That actually helps when trying to have the engine at an angle you can work with,
