Re: DIY 99-00 climate control (kleanlscivic)
It is actually very simple. I have had my cluster out at least 7 or 8 times.
Step 1...Unscrew the top two bolts of the black gauge surround.
Step 2...Gently tug on the black gauge surround and remove it, you will see 4 screws around the actualy cluster; two that are straight in at the bottom, and two that are near the top around the same location of the gauge surrounds bolts.
Step 3...After removing the screws, your cluster should be able to be angled toward you(the top should be angled toward you) and then you simply unplug the harnesses.
Step 4...Look at the back of the gauge cluster and you will see several bigger size brown/black/green plugs. Those are the light bulb housings. If you unscrew them, you simply twist and pull them out, then you just swap out the bulbs. I bought my bulbs from advance for like $7 total. Or then you could paint the stock ones if desired. Not sure on the size of the bulbs off the top of my head though...
I hope this helps.. If you want more information just let me know. Also, i can get pictures if you want me to, but it is very simple. I dont even take anything off of the gauge cluster except the little plugs. After you get them done, try plugging one of the cluster plugs in and turn your lights on to see if it works. I think its one of the smaller ones...?

He's talking about the climate control, not the gauge cluster.
