Default DIY 5lug conversion question.

I have been wondering this for a while. in the prelude vtec big brake conversion for our egs/eks it says that you can either buy the prelude rotors or the ITR rotors and drill them to 4x100 so i know that these rotors are the same size. Also you can either buy the prelude calipers, ITR calipers, or NSX calipers. My question is, If i was to buy the ITR or CRV hub which can bee seen below, would it be possible to place this in my GSR knuckles with the big brake conversion and have a po-mans 5lug conversion?

36mm is ONLY JDM ITR 5-lug.. everything else including our ITR is the same which i believe is 32mm..

there may be an offset issue though..i know with my gsr hub/prelude rotor/itr caliper, there is a 3mm offset issue from the rotor, and such. What determines that, the hub or the whole knuckle itself...worth a shot tho.

i thought you didn't have 9 bills to spend on an expensive 5 lug conversion, and another 5 for afford heavy ITR wheels? would it help if they were imported from japan?

upgrade your **** for performance, not for looks...that's my motto any who.

I mean, you want to get all technical and crap so here we go.
First of all, you don't use ITR rotors on a 94+ integra hub.

1. They are not hub-centric and will cause all sorts of problems and vibrations.
2. They are 5 lug, and much harder to drill to 4 lug, due to place of studs, and lack of material.

I believe you can get a ITR wheel bearing, and hub and have that pressed in. You actually don't even need a press, I've done it b4 a few times with my hubs with a axle hub puller and a slide hammer, rented from autozone, 20 bucks a piece. You can even keep them if you want. I know for 20 bucks, i definitely kept the axle puller.

Your idea of drilling a 4 x 100 rotor to 5 lug is novel, but it wont work.

1. The offset of the rotor is different then the ITR.
2. The thickness of the rotor is different then that of the ITR.
3. The lug pattern is different, and would be a pain in the *** to drill.
4. You would loose the 2 screws that hold the rotor on the hub. (Note i know most don't run them, but i expect this being a problem because of #5.
5. The 4x100 is hub centric, where as the ITR is lug centric. The Clearances on the 5 lug are a bit tighter to hold it in place on the hub exactly center. The screws keep them in place. I don't know this for a fact, but if you have a problem with lug centric on a hub centric, then it must be viceversa.
6. This is assuming your using a different caliper, if you don't it just wont fit, the rotor is larger in diameter.

So, yes its very apparent to me that your interested in 5 lug for a much different reason then i would be. That's why i made my 4X100 setup which includes:

GSR Knuckles
ARP Extended Lug Nuts
Honda OEM Open Ended lug nuts
96 Prelude Vtec Rotors Re-drilled to 4 x 100 and balanced
2001 ITR Re-man Calipers
Prestige 3mm, and 8mm Spacers
Stainless Brakelines
GSR Master Cyl and Booster
4040 Non-Abs Prop Valve

GL with the 5 lug in any event....

i thought of doing that b4 and i know that the GSR and Type R has the same hub/knuckle so why wouldnt it work but if you can already get the 5-lug hub shouldnt you already have the whole 5 lug conversion layin there

I would think that you could use CRV 5 lug conv. just press the the old one's out and press the crv ones n, and in the front you can use the crv cali. and the rear try the itr's or even the prelude one's, I know the crv hubs will fit in the front, (same axle's) I don't know if any one tryed this **** before

no, unless you got a a 94+ integra or ex/si sized rotor with 5 lug pattern

You wouldnt be getting any kind of brake upgrade tho with that

theordicly, if you take a bone stock 95 Si.. and order USDM ITR hubs and rotors, they will clear the EG calipers?

i understand pad coverage would still be the same, but you would be 5 lug.

okay, so the CRV hub will work in the front, because the CRV uses the same axles. That would leave us with the rear in question. I dunno if there are any CRVs that aren't AWD that have all disc brakes. my GSR brakes don't have ABS. And i'm not sure if there are any ITRs without ABS, so i don't know if i could use the ITR rear hubs. perhaps maybe the prelude vtec rear hubs? can ABS hubs go in non abs steering knuckles?
