Default distributor rotor stuck on the shaft...N E suggestions on removal?

I need to see if my MSD is shitting on me and a can't get inside the distributor to get all the wires. The MSD rotor is stuck on the shaft. Yes I have taken the little screw off, but I am afraid of ruining the rotor and/or the dust housing with excessive force with a screw driver. Is there anything you guys recommend I could use to safely get the rotor off? It's a B series distributor. TIA

I usually spray it down with WD40 and hit it with something softly to break it loose. Then twist and pull. If its really bad i just pry it up with 2 screw drivers.

Sounds good to me. I can always try that. Thanks for the suggestion.
