Distributor question
So I bought a remanufactured (autozone) distributor because I was throwing CEL code 9 (CYP). The CEL is fixed but when I installed the distributor I had to turn it all the way advanced to get the timing right (checked w/ timing light w/ service connecor jumped). Yeah the red mark betwen the other two. I also checked my valve timing (crank to cam belt position marks all lined up perfect) and it is spot-on. Could I have gotten a bad distributor (something poorly positioned inside it)? Anyone else have this issue (the distributor is adjusted all the way advanced to get proper timing)?

Re: Distributor question (strategy400)
Awhile ago I had been doing some work on my car, my coil burnt out in my distributor. I went through 4 auto zone distributors before I gave up and went to car Quest. All with different problems, including the one you are having with timing.

Re: Distributor question (strategy400)
I just changed my distributor last week cause mine was all rusted and stuff, anyways, what year is your Sol, I have a 97 ex and when I put my distributor in, it only goes in a certain way, you have to line up the male/female ends, I don't know if your Sol is set up the same way, I'm guessing it is, also, go to NAPA if you can, thats where I buy all my replacement parts now, AutoZone is garbage, half the time the rednecks that work there will knock on your Honda, LOL, hope this helps
