Default distributor problems?! please help!!

hi, i have this crazy thing with my car . . . .

92 Civic Dx HB with ZC swap . . . . anyways . . . the tach will sometimes . . . jump around all crazy and the motor feels as though its losing power when it does this . . . . could it be the distributor? if not what else . . . . wires, plugs, etc is ok . . .

also will a distributor off a b18 non vtec work?? assuming that is the problem of course . . .

Sounds like you have a short somewhere in your distributer. Do you have a MSD ignition and/or a blaster coil bye chance? If you do the wires in from the coil going into the distributer are getting frayed bye the rotor.
Whatever it is something is causing a short and it will cause you tach to jump around.

I don't think a B18 non vtec distributer will help, but then again I could be wrong.

well, i purchased a new distributor today and changed them out and there was no change . . . . the tach still jumps around . . . . . . . . i put in new plugs and wires and checked all my wires . . . . it even does it while im idle'ing now . . . . however when the idle changes, sometimes the tach will stop jumping around . . . . its crazy and its costing me money just to figure out what this is . . . .so if anyone has any other ideas or has experienced this before . . . please feel free to post any comments/suggestions that might be helpful . . . thank you

if it does it while at idle and while driving I'd check your IACV. Are you throwing a CEL by chance?

I'm not quite sure about a CEL but i do know, that since ive done the swap, ive been throwing a 19 and a 27 i believe. A TPS code and something else, electric lode or something . . I havent had the chance to check these out. Oh by the way, in my car, i changed the automatic out to a standard when i put in the zc. Do I have to switch the green and yellow wires going into the TPS plug? because thats the only thing i can think of that would be throwing that code. But as far as in the CEL or whatever , im not sure . . . . keep sending the posts . . . thanks

So what happend? It sounds like my car is having the same problem, it just started today. My car stalled on me 3 times anywhere from idle to 2g rpm.
