Distributor Problems
Here is the story, my eg has an ls swap. Who ever did the swap though did a really shity job. One thing was the distributor because it still has the d15 one. Even though the car runs it runs really ruff at low rpm. So i went on line and got a used one.. Long story short that one does not work, so what i was thinking of doing is taking the internals from the d15 one and putting them in the b18 dist. So my ? is, will this work. I have herd that the internals are the same, but thats just what i have herd.. oh and one more thing. How do i take off the top oval thing.. that has a pin looking thing going through it.. becuase if i don;t take that off i can't get to the bottom sensors.

Re: Distributor Problems (m7869ike)
When my distributor shaft bearing failed, I transplanted the guts from a D16Z6 distributor into my B16A case, along with the new bearings (on a budget, can't afford a new one.)
If the distributor is brand new, it should be fine, but you may need to make sure that the right sensor wire are going to the right terminals on the ECU. I had to re-pin my distributor connector when I swapped the guts over. I suggest a good small bearing pull that doesn't have a point on it, but rather a cup, those are the best things to have. If you disassemble the shaft make sure you remember the positions of the gear teeth, your kinda playing wire fire in doing this if you are new to it.
