motor swap issues
so im doing a swap for my friend in his 2000 civic.
he called Steve at HMO. and got a motor.
Steve sent a SOHC ZC. but im pretty sure he sent him a obd1
and i have two clips that dont have a home. on the old motor there was a wire thing coming from the crank that isnt on the ZC.
and theres a Little black box that's plugged into the intake manifold. that has a clip that goes into that's not on the new one.
also someone told me that 2000 civic have demobilizes and if you do a swap you gotta do something to reset the ecu... i dont know cause im an EF person myself so all this new **** is kinda out of my league
help is greatly appreciated

Re: motor swap issues (Slamaccord)
2000 civic is obd2 so you are going to need a obd1 to obd2 coversion harness, which I would make HMO pay for since they sent you the wrong engine. Because it would suck to have to pull that bitch back out.

If you show me a obd2 version of a sohc zc (factory) I will send you $20 paypal right now. Hmotors owes him nothing. He ordered a motor, they delivered it. If you guys knew what you were doing, you would have ordered a d16y8.

Re: motor swap issues (streetracerof06)
i didnt ordered, my friend did and he called steve and told him he needed a cheap motor to replace his and told him what kinda car he had,
i have no problem with steve at hmo. i order all kinds of **** from him, and hes probably the only person i would order from.
apperantly jdm obd2 zcs didnt come with a crank sensor, so i had to change the oil pump.
and its not like a shop is going to just have a d16y8 laying around, and if they did its not worth selling cause those motors
