Yo.
I've been on the hunt for a Dizzy. The one on my engine (D16Y8) has one single plug with 8 pins. The other style (which seems to be the only one kicking around) is the 2 connector (7pin, 2 pin).

Is it possible to splice the 8 pin connector off my bad dizzy into the other style connectors? Someone told me you can..To me, it doesn't seem like it's proper. Will it work? If it does, do I loose my tach and speedo? Any downfalls to doing this if it is possible.

You can cut and splice the plugs, although depending on what's wrong with the distributor you have you could just swap the coil and igniter, or even the CYP/CKP/TDC sensors from one to the other.

I hit it with a hammer. lol
Naw, the rotor is seized and I found a distributor for 40$ that I have a new cap and rotor for.

Y7-Y8 distributors are the same. Just need to trade connectors.

Just take the rotor off then, break it if you have to (sometimes that's the only way they'll come off) I wouldn't go to all the trouble of swapping plugs for that.
