Default Distributor causing power loss?

OK, so the other day i replaced the cam seal and cleaned the carbon off the distributor cap terminals noticing that the spring running from the top of the coil had mysteriously disappeared. I have a major power loss has no pick up and go like it did before the seal swap and cleaning the distributor terminals.

Could i have messed something up by accident in the distributor? Is that spring going from the coil to the cap really important?

Car is a 92 LX sedan

d15b7/s20
d16a6 cam adjusted to TDC using AEm cam gear
d16z6 IM
OBX header
airmass exhaust
Short ram intake

The spring on top of the coil is necessary, and missing it will likely really reduce your spark power. I am using a external coil and have a spare internal coil (for the d15b7 distributor). It has the spring on it, if you want either the spring, or the whole coil, send me a PM. I dont want a lot for it, make me an offer.

The spring is acting as a piece of wire between the coil output and distributor cap 'input'. If the spring you used isn't making contact between those two points, then wonder no further why it's running the same.

You say it was running just fine before this maintenance - I'd say either the spring isn't long enough or your coil/igniter has bit the dust.

I don't think it's the cam seal, maybe you fried you're coil pack from runnin it or startin it is what im tryin to say from now having the spring itself in their on the tip of the coil pack. You should really go grab you're self another one from the junkyard, because i know my local area has like 5-6 coupe's in their junkyard with a few of them still have the dizzy and motor and **** on it.
