US and JDM b16s have the same size distributor.. check the part # of the one he got you and look up what it fits

Sure thing. The GSR and ITR's take a P72 cap which will not line up if you have the P54/PT2 cap. I found out the hard way. Apparently someone put the "other" distributor on the wrecked '97 GSR donor car because the P72 cap I ordered did not line up. Got a P54/PT2 cap and worked perfectly.

The PT2 cap is the OBD1 cap and will work on just about any OBD 1 D-Series or B16A or B18A/B

The P54 cap is the OBD2 cap and will work on just about any OBD 2 D-Series or B16A or B18B

The P72 cap will work for all B18C1/5

There's a set of number/letters to the right of the cap on the metal part of the distributor next to the bolts to the head. You can look it up on the web to see where the distributor came from.

Well if you bought one for a B16A2, you bought a P54. I would try the PT2, as I doubt the P72 would work.

I have no knowledge if the JDM distributors are different or not.

Well if you have a B16A2 distributor, why didn't you buy a B16A2 distributor cap?
