If you have the OBD1 GS-R distributor as well you can take both apart and just swap the CYP/CKP/TDC sensors.

If he puts the gsr internals into the Ex distributor it won't bolt up to his motor, and then he still has to worry about the plugs on the obd1 distributor and obd2 harness not hooking up ..... you could take and re pin ur gsr distributor and put ur obd2 plugs on it.

Thats not what I meant. I meant take the OBD2 EX CYP/CKP/TDC sensors and swap them into the OBD1 GS-R distributor case. I've done the reverse before, It works fine.

yeah but the plugs on the Gsr distributor still won't plug into his engine harness, considering the gsr distributor is obd1 and his engine harness is obd2

Thats why I told him to swap the CYP/CKP/TDC sensors. You know the ones those plugs are attached to. Depining doesn't work either, i've tried, the pins are just slightly different and they wont snap into the plug shell.

Hey man, if you do that with the distributor... what would you take for the gsr internals after taking them out??? I am currently needing a few things to finish build my distributor.
