The key way is offset so that the distributor will only line up with the camshaft one way. Look at the notches on the end of the camshaft and rotate the end of the dizzy the mates up to it as needed.

Re: distributer wont fit?
alright so i had to take out the rocker arms, re did it..now it fits. and now the head is on the block with timing belt on. i loosen all the valves to do valve adjustment, but #2 exhaust and #3 intake are stuck open..is the motor suppose to spin freely when i loosen all the valves?? because right now it feels like its stuck when i try to spin it

Take the spark plugs out. Just from reading it sounds like you don't know what you are doing. You need to consult a service manual before performing this task. There are also numerous videos on the internet for this procedure.
Here's one I found just Googling

Re: distributer wont fit?
How would the rocker arms prevent the distributor from fitting? Unless you removed them and just did a bad job reinstalling them I don't see how they would prevent the distributor from being bolted down.
For those valves, if the rocker arms are loosened then the only way they could be stuck open is if they are bent (or something very obvious in the springs would be there holding them open but that would have to be a ridiculously big piece of debris to do that). How are you determining that they are stuck open anyway?
