Default Disconnecting shift linkage in EK need help (pics)

Me and my buddy are trying to disconnect the shift linkage in his EK, so we don't know how to disconnect this part circled in white.

has anyone broken anything hitting out that pin?? i always hit it like a poon box so i dont break the tranny case

One of the bolts that holds on the A/c compressor fits in there perfect. Never fails

Yeah that pin sucks my anus. I have taken it out with an air hammer and flared ther end so be careful. I'd just pull the motor with it attached and then take it off. Much easier.

I always drop it with the tranny and usually a few hits with my "thor hammer" (mini sledge) gets it out pretty quick.

To answer the question about anyone breaking anything outing it. I've whacked the **** out of my hands thinking I broke them before I wised up and realized it was easier to just get it out with the tranny.

pulling the motor with the linkage attached is a good idea but you really have to be careful the you dont bend it if it gets caught between the floor and the rear crossmember, ive had a problem with the "bitch pin" more times than you can imagine, i usually just drill it out and replace with a new one i keep like 5 on hand...lol

I belive 8mm tapered? not positive, use the airbox bolt!!
