Axle nut is located in the center of the wheel/brake assembly.
It's a 32 mm sized nut.
You will need to unstake it, and use either an impact gun, or a really long breaker bar.

More like change 'big *** breaker bar' to 'big *** impact wrench' I don't see how you can't see the axle nut unless you forgot to take off the wheels. That's the easy part. The hard part is prying the axles from the tranny, its a PITA.

The 32mm bolt was pretty easy for me. We just took the pole off the jack and connected it to my 1/2" wrench. The ball joint was a pain in the ***. We used a crow bar (correct spelling??) Somehow i managed to get it off. Then for the axle i used the trusty crow bar again. Good luck

To loosen the axle nuts it's a good idea to have the car on the ground, as it will require a lot of force with a breaker bar, or with an impact gun. If your wheels have center caps on them, raise the car up and put your spare on that one side and lower it down so you can get the axle nut loose with the car on the ground. Do the same for the opposite side.
Next you're gonna have to take the king pin out of the lower ball joint, remove the nut, then seperate the knuckle from the lower control arm. This, frankly, is a bitch. There is a special tool called a pickle fork specifically for this purpose, but it will ruin the ball joint boot, so don't use it unless you have a replacement boot. I actually used a steel bar and a sledgehammer to pound on the lower control arm until it seperated from the ball joint.
After that, you'll need to pop the axle out of the hub, and then have a friend crawl under the car and apply force between the axle and the tranny to pop it out of the tranny. It has a c-clip on it, so you'll need to do this, you can't just pull on it or you'll pull apart the CV joints and you'll have to rebuild the axles. You can use the aforementioned "pickle fork" to pull the axles out of the tranny, or a screwdriver like someone else said. Just don't **** up the axle seals on the tranny or all your tranny fluid will leak out later on down the road.
Good luck, it's not hard but it's time consuming.
