Default Dimmer switch dosnt work

Ok I have a weird situation with my ek 00 civic

My oem civic dimmer swithc does not work. I have tried mulitple one pulled from junk yards with good working parts which i verified trying them in my friends ek.
I have over 6 of them which all work in my friends car but none work in my car, mind you fuse is good, electric current constant while lights on. I plug up a 94 integra one and it works fine! Now from every thing i know this could only mean that for some reason the line is running to high of current wrong fuse- i go check but it is the correct fuse-
I am no electric specialist by no means and need a little advise if any one has any
this was tried with & with out my indiglo faces!

when you say it doesn't work.... do you mean that the lights are on full no matte what you do? the lights are off no matter what you do?

unplug the dimmer unit, take a paper clip and short the red wire to the black wire. Leave the red/blk wire alone for now.

When you turn on the lights, this should make all the dash lights turn on full.

Im having the same problem, can u permanently mate the red wire to the black, or will this cause long term issues?

connecting the red wire to the black wire would be the same thing as setting your dimmer to full on.
It may cause the bulbs to get hotter than nornal on long trips... but I don't know if that's a problem. I doubt it.

i'm having a similar problem with my 92 hatch. the dimmer switch shorted out, and then the switch i put in to replace it is finnicky, it doesn't work all the time. in a 92-95, even when the dimmer is on the highest setting it increases the resistance in the circuit, so jumping the dimmer just blows the fuse. i need to find someone who can measure the resistance of their working switch so that i can just wire a resistor to bypass the dimmer. Anybody feel like bustin out their multimeter?
