dilemma
alright so im throwing a cel 67, somethings wrong with my cat. i have a d16y7, stock exhaust manifold with the cat right under the heat shield, and something rattling. for 175 bucks i could have meinekee run 2.5" pipe from my exhaust manifold to my magnaflow muffler, would they be able to replace that cat? im not used to seeing a cat right up by the manifold, is this even worth it considering im going to swap a b series into it in a matter of months (maybe years with how my cash flow is comin in.) basically i want to know if changing my cat will even fix my cel, and maybe the rattling sound coming from the bay?

Please be carful my friend, it may NOT be your cat but it may be your 2nd O2 sensor. This one tells the car how the exhaust is after the cat and if its in tiptop shape. The ratting sound is usually just the heat sheild. The spot welds break causing that. 2 ways to fix, 1 weld
2 (my fav in the shop) use a LARGE hose style gear clamp (like used on rad hoses) and tighten it around the sheild.
Please check your O2 as cats usually have a long life. if your unsure get a shop to check it for you.
