Yes, they are the different trim models of Honda Civics, likely used to differentiate the packages with each car.

If you don't know that, then you don't own a Honda. So don't worry about it .

CX = HB model with a 70 HP engine, no moldings, no intermittant wipers, no rear wiper
VX = HB model with VTEC-E 92 HP engine, no moldings, no intermittant wipers, no rear wiper
DX = HB, coupe, sedan model with 102 HP engine, has moldings
LX = sedan model with 102 HP engine, power windows, no moonroof
Si = HB model with 125 HP engine, moonroof
SiR (JDM) = HB model with 170 HP engine, thin moldings, power windows, moonroof sometimes
VTi (Euro) = HB model with 170 HP engine, same as SiR
VTi (JDM) = HB model with 125 HP engine (I think)
MX (JDM) = HB model with 102 HP engine (I think)

This is from the top of my head.

Okay I will try to give you a slight clue about the honda trims...

The following are from the 5th generation body styles...

CX/VX- base models, do not feature any power options, they weigh the lighest. The CX comes with a d15b8 (70hp) and the VX features the vtec-e motor (92hp?) The CX/VX models only come in hatchbacks.

DX - Next model above the CX, does not feature any power options, comes with a d15b7 (102hp) The DX can be a hatchback, coupe, or sedan.

EX- Top model of the 5th generation, features a moon roof, and some power options. Comes with a d16z6 sohc VTEC motor in the 5th generation models, and comes with a d16y8 sohc VTEC in the 6th generation models.

Si-R - JDM version, RHD, features a DOHC vtec b16 motor. Not sure of all of the interior/exterior features and accesories.

LX- I believe it is a sedan only. Came in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th generation models. Features a 1.5liter in the 4th and 5th generations models, and 1.6's in the 6th and 7th generations.

HX- Came in the 6th and 7th generation models and comes with the pimpest OEM wheels

Hope thats helps a little bit. All of the models above come with a D-series engine, except the Si-R has the DOHC VTEC b16a.

where are you? says your in illinois, and im pretty sure every state in the US gets the same car models.

btw : the Si-R is not only the jdm hatch w/ the b16 but also the 99-00 civic SI in canada. but its LHD and same as the us but with a KPH cluster and came in Vouge Silver as well as EBP , FBP and MR

dont forget the VP which is a base model with nothing. no cassette or cd (probably doesnt even have a radio ), no a/c, no power anything. its just an engine with tires.

i know around here we have civic gt-r's and si-r's and r-t's and all the good ones (thanks to advanced auto parts and thier stick on emblems )
