Difficulties in entering first gear..
hey there fellow vtec-ers,
i drive a EK, with a transplanted 92' b16a engine in my car from an eg6. using a 4.4FD Y21 lsd gearbox.
recently i encounter some difficulties in entering my first gear. it only occurs when the car is stationary. when my car is kinda on the roll, it enters without any force. upon stationary (stopped at a traffic light, making a 3 points turn... etc), it requires some FORCE to push it into first gear, after that no problem.. only gear 1.... whats my problem? synchro?

Alot of times especially when your coming out of reverse your gears don't align. If you let off the brake and let the car roll a couple of inches then it will go into gear.

I have the same problem. Through research I've heard it can be fixed by changing out your transmission fluid. Although I havn't gotten around to doing mine so I really don't know. I've also read it could be a bent shift fork *shrugs*
To be safe though, whenever I'm stationary I'll clutch down and go through all the gears before putting it back into first. If it doesn't go into 1st I'll just go 2/3/4/5 then by that time it'll go into 1st no problem.
