Default Differences between suspension top mounts 96-98 and 99-00?

Hey guys, I've been looking at suspension differences between all of the Civics and comparing Honda part numbers.

Can any of you tell me what the difference is between the top mount on the 96-98s and the 99-00s?

I do not think that there is a great difference between the two at all however, if Honda deems the 99-00s to get a new part number, there must be some differences. Strenght design maybe?

Anyone ever compare the two side by side?

Part #7 BTW in case any of you are wondering.

They're just tophats... I'm using modified Integra and EG tophats on my EK.

How did you have to modify them?

What is the advantage of swapping out top hats in between other OEM alternatives? Does it alter the length of suspension travel? What kinds of aftermarket alternatives are available and what advantage do they serve over an OEM tophat?

I'm curious - interesting subject matter.

I have no idea but if you want to put "A" suspension in "B" chassis, I'm curious if there are any gains or loss.....or for that matter does fitment become an issue. Maybe not perfect fit, know what I mean.
