Default differences between a DX, EX, etc.

what's up guys. i was contemplating about buying a used 97 DX hatchback. i know the DX is the lower model and it has the black moldings and such. i was wondering what other differences the DX has to the others and if there are any extra things i would need to upgrade to a B18 series motor. i heard some stuff like a DX needs extra parts to swap a motor, compared to a EX. i dont know the difference.

if you are going to do a swap.. then the only difference between the two models is convenient features.. such as power windows, lock, sunroof..

yeah i dont think it matters if your going to swap, pretty much if you get a DX instead of an EX you'll have to take out les stuff.

Also, on some of the older models, only the EX's are VTEC. You probably won't have that problem on a 97 though, if you get a DX. Just FYI I guess.

Well if your dead set on buying a HB, one SMALL difference is that there is no EX hatch.

Otherwise, EX's have SOHC VTEC, possibly bigger brakes and more options.
