Default Difference between EG coupe and EG hatchback Exhaust

How much difference is there,.. And how hard would it be to make a Coupe catback fit on a HB??

I know that it's only the axle-back theres is difference, but is it just that simple that it's only the pipe that shut be cut and welded, or does the piping not fit at all??

thanks

the piping from the catback i believe is also different...my friend got a coupe catback by accident and as you said the axleback portion stuck out 1 - 1.5 feet from the bumper....about the catback though it should be close i think dont quote, but yea all you prolly have to do is cut + weld but if you can get a catback meant for a hatchback thast obviously your best bet.

yeah as stated the coupe piping is longer

the cat is the same for both, but i believe the part thats longer is called the "b pipe"

if you had it cut and welded it would work but the piping is the same

I think that the B-pipe is the same!!.. But it's the Axle back that is difference,.
I got a wrong Catback By an accident, and I live in Denmark, so sending it back (to the US) and getting a new one would probobly cost alot more of trouble and time than a cut and welding if it is possible...

some one must have tried this..

I think axle back is different, because think of the car. Where is the car different (body style)? It's smaller from the Axle back. Makes sense to me.

anyone elses thoughts??

I have a EX muffler welded to my custom 2 1/4 pipping. Its a tight fit due to the size of the EX muffler. Barely any room left....where the muffler and the LCA is.

Coupe muffler is longer at the axle back. Will need to shorten the pipping and have new hangers. Also, muffler tip will hang out pretty far. So, it needs to be chop.

I have a hatchback with a coupe exhaust. We just took it to a muffler shop and they cut it where it goes over the axel. No one can tell the differnce.

My friend has a racing medallion for a coupe on his hatch and it was modified by a shop. Came out very shitty... It seems like the muffler is bigger for the coupe.

thats a 2000 civic si muffler & 2.25"piping, its a tight fit, the muffler shop had to shorten the tip, also i have GSR lower control arms, rear sway bar. the muffler is about an inch away from the sway bar. looks stock thats why i like it. I do however have an exhaust cutout for the track. its located between the muffler and the resonator
