All 5th Gen EH2 and EH3 chassis code hatchbacks were made in Canada. Is this what you're asking, or are you asking about a vehicle that was destined for the Canadian Domestic Market (CDM) vs. US Domestic Market (USDM)?

Above is correct. Also, if it's a CDM 92 Si, it might not be equipped with SRS.

^^ Oops, yeah. To clarify: I mean the ones made for USDM and CDM. Basically.. EH2 and EH3 body codes.

OP, if you are from Texas, why do you want a car from Canada? Just curious. I would rather have a car from the south than something put through 15 winters of ice, snow, and the wonderful salt.

I remember reading that all Canadian hatches had the 11.9 gallon gas tank while only a few of the usdm hatches had the 11.9 gallon tank most had a 10 gallon tank. I don't know if this is true or not just trying to help.

Another difference between the USDM EH and the CDM EH (EG is mainly JDM as far as I know). The CDM EH's don't have the Electric Load Detector (ELD) while the USDM EH's do.

Also as said above me, CDM has Daytime running lights, while USDM does not. And to repeat myself, the CDM does not have the ELD while USDM does have the ELD.

Neither my wifes CDM DX hatch nor my CDM CX hatch have AC. The DX has power steering while my CX does not.

Also, the USDM CX has the 12 valve D15B8 motor with the tall gearing manual transmission (like the VX), while the Canadian CX is the 16 valve D15B7 motor with the slightly shorter gearing in line with the DX (USDM or CDM) transmission on the manuals.

That's all the differences I am aware of, there is likely more that I am not aware of. I think deschlong may know them all, he amazes me consistently with his Honda knowledge.

Sounds like it's a 92. Only the 92's were prewired for vtec on the tower if they weren't SI's or EX's.

Not quite. CDM VX had small tank, none else. USDM CX and VX had small tank, none other.

My 92 USDM VX has the 11.9 gallon tank. I found that out pumping 10.4 gallons into it on one fill up.

I believe all 1992 USDM hatchbacks have 11.9 gallon tanks.

If it's a real CDM Civic it most likely wont have an airbag. '93 - '95 Sis had standard airbags, but not the '92. I've seen exactly one '92 - '95 Canadian hatch with a factory airbag that wasn't an Si.

No '92 Civic came from the factory with AC, not even the EX sedan. It optional and installed at a dealership level. The whole thing came as a kit. It wasn't until '94 that the EX sedan gained factory AC, and even then it was only the EX sedan.

White CX, the rear speakers were available as an accessory on all '92 - '93 Civics, they were standard on '94 - '95 Sis only. Some '95 Canadian CXs came with a rear wiper as well.

US CX/VX and Canadian VX don't, if yours does it was swapped at some point.

All 1992 models came with 11.9 gallon tank. Nobody swapped the fuel tank on my hatchback.

That's just simply not true, you can check the part numbers, if you look you'll notice the VX tank is no longer available, but the 11.9 gallon tank is if you check under other '92 models.

Someone swapped the fuel tank on your hatchback, or you had far less gas in it when you thought when you filled it up.

Far less gas in it? 10.4 gallons in a 10 gallon tank? Maybe the pump just read wrong or maybe you should let Helms know their manual is simply not true.

It wouldn't be the first time the Helms manual has been wrong. I've seen it before with gear ratios.

My VX was produced in 12/91. I'm willing to bet that Honda switched to the 10 gallon tank sometime mid-year during the 1992 production line.

I can find source for both the 11.9 and 10 gallon tank in 1992 on the VX, most likely the CX as well.

^ I suspect you'd lose that bet. Both my 1993 and 1995 copies of the Civic service manual indicate a 45 litre tank, making no distinction for the smaller one on the CX and VX. The manual is wrong.
