Okay:
Si - Comes with D16Z6 SOHC VTEC, has sunroof, different interior, weighs more
Cx - Comes with SOHC Non VTEC,one of the lighest model hatches, no sunroof, no side molding and i think it has under a 100hp motor, and a really long *** geared tranny
Dx- Comes with D15b7?? SOHC non VTEC, no sunroof, has sidemoldings, possibly different interior
Vx- Comes with SOHC VTEC-E motor which the vtec is more economy related for gas mileage, etc No sunroof, not sure about sidemoldings and is the lightest model hatch you can get.
I know i'm forgetting some stuff, but it's late i'm tired.

Damn...I completely missed "eg"...
You're right Jimmy they don't come with it, and on the DX it was an option.
My EJ didn't have PS

Partially true. I have a 94 CX without PS but with AC.

The cx's come with power steering. I just picked one up this last weekend. They have no power windows and no power locks. also it is correct they come with no ac. also I thought the cx was the lightest?...... oh yeah and they don't come with cruise control.

Re: (jedi_first_degree)
the CX and DX both came with the option for PS and AC...
but you had to wait 8 weeks for your ordered hatch with PS and AC most of the time...
therefor, some hatches have it and some dont...

Re: (ROK801)
i have a 1994 Honda Civic cx, it comes with PS and A/C but doesn't come with side molding... it has a D18B8 engine with 70HP@4.500 RPM and redlines at 6.800 RPM ... max i've got mine to is 90 MPH (i need an engine swap) the cx doesn't come with a tac or PW or PDL... also if you care it doesnt come with a back wiper ... the cx is a good car if u can find it cheap but you'll want to do an engine swap.
the dx has a better engine, D18B7 , it has 102 HP@5.900 RPM redlines at 6.800 RPM. i'm not sure of the features on it but it does come with side molding
the VX had a vtec-e engine ,D15Z1 90 HP@5.500 RPM redlines at 7.000 RPM vtec at 2.500 RPM , this is NOT the lightest hatchback , the lightest is the cx but it is very close... i don't know any other features of the vx
the ex or Si has a VTEC , D16Z6 125HP @6.600 RPM redlines at 7.200 RPM vtec at 4.800 RPM ... thats all i know about this model as well
hopefully i helped a little

if plans are for an engine swap, look for a cx or vx, pref. a vx as it is the lightest hatch out of the bunch, however, a 5spd hatch is becomming rare, a vx hatch w/ 5spd.. well, you get the point, even rarer.

Re: Differece Between CX DX VX SI (phoeg6)
I got a 2000 cx hatch new and it was the most stripped down model I could get. I wanted the car with nothing so I could add everything. It is the model for fuel economy because it is lightest and has as cx tranny. I could have gotten the dealer to add a/c for about $1200 at the time. I was pissed at that price so I put in a/c on my own but it was still expensive. Also it doesn't need p/s because it is pretty easy without it. Since then I've turboed it and put in an EX tranny among other things. I do miss the lower rpm at cruise I had with the cx one. Sometimes I try to shift into 6th gear or something.

Re: (teknoracing)
the SI and EX from the egs had the same power
125 HP
in fact my sisters EX coupe has the exact same everything as a SI hatch, windows, sunroof, the works.

Totally true I must of searched for a good 6 monthes. Most of the ones I looked at would of taken alot of work to get back in running order. Then finally I came across a 94 CX Frost White with 86,000mi, 5spd for $3,000. It was worth the wait. Granted it needed a little TLC.
I thought the CX was the lightest being the base model (next to nothing) because it has no options and a very puny motor?

If you mean D15B8, then that engine is also the engine that came in CRX HF's. It was mated to probably the longest-geared tranny in the history of the automobile. OH and it also came with 70hp, therefore it must be exactly the same engine, except for the manifold (OBD1 mani) The CRX one had EGR and all the emissions stuff in it. I believe it was supposed to get like 48 mpg or something...

Re: (Mark D. Surface)
ex (coupe) and si have rear disc brakes as well, as the cx, dx, vx have rear drums. I also thought the cx was lighter than the vx. And, btw, AC and PS are for girls .
