diff between p08 and p28 ecus
i got a jdm d15b with a po8 cylinder head from a d16z6. i ws told both the d15b and d16z6 use the same cylinder head. which ecu is better to run with my d15b? i would think the p08 ecu but i have the p08 head from the z6. Im lost but what is the difference between the two ecus other then the fact there from different vehicles?

I would like to know this as well. I gots the jdm d15b, with p06 chipped/socketed and mapped to P28 (crome). When i asked the performance shop if i should try to find a p08, he said it wouldnt be worth it http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif .
prolly best thing to do would be chip it for tunning and get your own maps. |

The P08 uses a 1 wire O2 sensor, does not use a purge solinoid and has slightly different fuel maps than the P28. The P28 uses a 4 wire O2 sensor and looks for the purge solinoid. They are very similar ECUs, the heads are the same btw, but the D15B vtec has a slightly more agressive cam. |

For most people they aren't different enough to matter. I run virgin P28 in my sedan with a D15B vtec, it works great, doesn't seem to be running rich or anything. But if its a serious concern get a chipped P28 and use P08 maps. |
