Did I pay too much?
I bought the z6 tranny for 300 shipped off ebay... Hopefully it works without problems? You think I paid too much?

A little high but nothin' to cry about.Just wondering are the SI gears same as the EX,i was gonna put a EX tranny on my DX to try get a little better scoot.peace.

You paid a little too much, but it wasn't all that much, don't fret. The good deals are tough to find. I paid $300 for a Z6 tranny last year from a salvage yard. As long as the tranny doesn't grind, it's worth it.

Only difference in Z6 trannies is that the Civic EX had a slightly longer 5th gear than the Civic/delSol Si for better highway fuel mileage.
Si or EX, either one will be fine.

and the y8 trannies had cast iron forks, ( i think ) opposed the the aluminum forks in the z6 trannies. i just know the y8 was stronger.

BauleyCivic got a full D16Z6 motor with trans from one of my friends for $200...it's all about who you know and the deals you can find. $300 for the tranny, if it is in good condition, is a fairly good price...a little high, but still not too bad.
