Default Did I order the right clutch?

93 Honda Del Sol Si
5 Speed

Car has 150k miles, theres a grinding noise we think is the throw out bearing, so i ordered a whole new clutch kit.

I was told to order the OEM Exedy 08022 as that was the OEM. It was like $99, vs the cheaper autostore ones that cost 150-300.

But now that Im reading online, it says that isnt for the SOHC SI engine and only the DOHC... something about its 1" to large or something?

Some clarification would be great... here's what I ordered.

Dude that one fits the d16z6 you should be good if you've got that motor. Pretty sure it fits y8s and d15s as well.

If the grinding noise goes away with the clutch pedal pushed down, then the noise is likely caused by a bad main bearing inside the transmission.

I have also seen TOB makin that sound stop when you push in the clutch. Could also be the pilot bearing. I thought mine was tranny input bearing to find out it was the pilot bearing was totally shot.

Wiggle the input shaft when you get the transmission out. If there's very much play at all, be prepared to open the transmission and replace the input shaft bearing and seal. Be forewarned, most local parts stores don't have them - might make sure the dealer's got 'em if you turn out to need it.

I have an Exedy 08022 waiting here for my 5 spd swap. It matches the OE exactly - the clutch disk is stamped Daikin, made in Japan. The part store cheap clutches are going to be from China.

08022 is correct for the SOHC motor as far as I know. I cannot believe you got it for 99 shipped....
