Did Head Job, Now No Heater!
Good day HT,
I have a 1995 Honda Civic D16Z6 w/ Auto trans. Had a leaky head-gasket/overheating issue several months ago. Had the head-gasket replaced (along with timing belt kit, water pump, radiator, radiator hoses, manifold gaskets, valve seals, and any other gaskets that come in a head-gasket kit). Ever since then, the heater doesn't work. It will blow warm for about 3-5 seconds, then go cold.
I had the thermostat replaced and heater core flushed out twice! The heater controls on the dash are working and the valve on the heater hose that is controlled by the dash lever works fine as well. A/C works great. I've had the coolant "burped" or "bled" several times now. Still no luck.
No shop can figure it out!
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Amber

Re: Did Head Job, Now No Heater!
For anyone that stumbles upon this post through search, the problem I believe ended up being trapped air in the system. I lent my sister the car for a couple days and she said coolant started bubbling out of the reservoir one day when she stopped to grab some food. After that the heater started working. Sounds like some trapped air finally worked its way out via the overflow reservoir. ****** a!
