did compression test - should i be worried?
b16 w/p30 pistons
milled gsr head .030
Well my car was blowing alot of smoke from the exhaust and on weds I looked at the radiator cap to see white sludge with oil buid up. Though to myself " time for a head gasket" So that night I pulled the head.. swapped the gasket, Clean the block and put it all together (all in one night 5yrs) Well I did a C.C tonight and..
222 / 215 / 225 / 235 Last summer it was about 260 cyl
Now the black and white smoke had greatly reduced but there is some still there.
I searched and found that if your numbers start low and end high your rings are bad. This was one of my assumption along with the H.G but I thought I would go with the H.G first seein it was faster and easier. But I also read that is you have bad valve seals this could be result in low compression per cyl

it does look low, my car is doing the exact same thing, literally. I made 260 per cylinder this summer, now its got a blown head gasket. Once i get the rest of the car sorted out i will change the gasket and report back with numbers.
While looking low they look consistent though. I wouldnt be worried. haha.

what would make it drop so much.. Only two things I can think of are valve seals and piston rings...
ugh... problem after problem after problem. fix one another one comes

Try it again tomorrow. Then, put a drop of oil in cylinder and repeat the test. If the seconds results are all higher, then your rings are done.

im not 100 % but im pretty sure the valve seals could be the problem...the same thing happened to my frined on his gsr he changed his head gasket but still some smoke after, specially when he accelerated rapidly, so anyways he changed the valve seals and no more smoke after....hope it works out

yea,
It's just like you explained in the discription, Same way here. I have new rings but the work that would be involved in changing them I really don't want to have to do, seeing on how my car i my DD also. I could use my GF car but she works M-F and needs here car so this would have to be a weekend project. But there isn't any machine shops open around here on the weekends to get the cyl walls honed So I'm kinda screwed lol.
I have never changed valve seals before. Is there a DIY on it some where? Thanks for all your guy's help with this.
I will try it again tomorrow will the oil idea, How much would I add?

thats why im gonna have my head machined, all my valves turned, and new seals put in before i put my head back on. Atleast then if i want to add cams later i know everything else is good-to-go.

You can always hone them yourself if you know how, look for a write up. The tools at advance. its supposed to be 60 degrees crossing.
