Default DevSport Side Skirt Wind Splitters for EK... anyone?

Hey everyone,

Just curious if anyone on here is rocking the side skirt splitters from DevSport?

Info and pics right here

I noticed there was no install guide included, but figured it was fairly straight forward...

But after poking my head under the car, it looks as if the bottom of the factory skirt sits against the bottom of the car. Not leaving a lot of room (if any?) for the supplied bolts/nuts to attach the splitter to the factory skirt, without interfering with the bottom/shell of the car.

I did a bunch of searching, but couldn't really find any info, so I'd figure I'd see if anyone on here attempted, or managed to install the splitters themselves? I'd love to tackle this job on my own, but I also don't want to make a mess of it, only to have to take it to a shop for them to fix it lol.

They actually keep the car stable at high speeds. By high speeds, I mean faster than 99% of Civics go. Are you doing 200 MPH rolling mile runs, and putting electrical tape over your headlights to reduce wind resistance? These would be for you, if they weren't made out of cheap plastic that's gonna flex before it actually DOES anything.

Also, generic pictures are generic. It says it's made to be direct fit, and it says it comes with hardware. If it isn't fitting directly, call them and ask them what you're doing wrong. Alternatively, find a friend with better spatial awareness than yourself, and ask them for help.

These don't look like they're marketed to the 200mph club.

I am by no means installing these for any kind "performace" upgrade or added stability lol

I like these purely for the look, that's all. I have a set of their winglets on the car - again purely for looks - and I think these finish the look off.

I'll just man up and do it lol. I contacted DevSport and they were nice enough to put my concerns at ease, in that it will work fine. Basically a nice way of saying stop being a ***** and do it already.

For the record, my car is about as far away from the 'stance' look as you can get. Never been a fan of the stretched tire/crazy camber set up. Leave that to the VW crowd. But to each their own.

I think calling them FIRST is what should've been done.

Which I did, however they're moving facilities (which they told me in their email), so their number wasn't working. So I sent an email. While I was waiting to hear back, I posted here figuring I might get a quicker response... not knowing if/when I'd even hear back from them.

As for the PCI skirts, not a huge fan of them. Depending on the car, they can look pretty good.

Except that they are two different looks, so yeah...

Not sure why you consider the fact that they're abs plastic as '****'?

I have a feeling you'd change your tune if you saw them in person. They're not made from some flimsy plastic crap, like an ebay lip. They're also guarnteed not to absorb water, warp, etc. Frankly these seem like they'll be a lot more durable than the metal PCI ones, especially when it comes to dents and dings.

Mainly because the side skirt is doing what this is trying to do. Now if you were to take this, attach it to an actual flat panel underbelly, or rather make an underbelly panel that actually goes all the way out passed the side skirt, it would be effective.

The PCI side skirts are so long for a reason. That reason being, is that it blocks air from going under the car. This is effective with an actual front airdam/splitter which stops the air from entering under the front of the car. Couple that with a rear diffuser/panel, and you don't actually need an underbelly in the middle of the car, because you are keeping the air flow outside of the area.

These pieces of plastic are not doing much of anything alone. But like you said, you're building your car for the 'look', and not actual function.

Absolutely.

I'm just not a fan of the PCI skirts, at least on the hatch I'm building now. I completely understand that they are functional, at least more so than the DevSport splitters, which like I said, I picked up for the look and nothing more.

Unfortunately, I just wish DevSport had better pics as far as examples go, because of the 2 pics you posted, it's no contest over which looks better lol
