Default dents and cracked bumper on my ek..

okay, so i just bought my car yesterday.
it has MANY dents all over the car, and i mean all over, roof, hood, hatch, fenders etc. some are minor and some are huge.
also, my front and rear bumper's cracked, the one at the back is the big one, i'm planning to stitch it then put some fiber glass, is it worth to fix or just buy a new rear bumper?
how hard is it to DIY???
and if somebody knows a shop that can remove all the dents for a decent price around chicago area, that'll be great. thanks.

it's oem. i'm worried to stitch the bumper because the car is lowered and always hit my driveway and it might break again.
is fiberglass bumper better than plastic?

naw dude, plastic is better. raise you car so it doesnt hit, and buy new bumpers.. they are liek $125 - $170 each at the dealer... depending on the car...

suction cups and dry ice will help with the dents...

how would suction cups and dry ice or toilet plunger would take the dents off? i think the dents are so bad that the toilet plunger or suction cups can pull it up..

use a heat gun and heat up the dent... then put some dry ice on the dent.....
the hot / cold change is supposed to make the metal contract ... ive seen it done on small dents, and it helps pull them...

the suction cup- put it on the dent and pull like hell...

if you cant get out the dent, take it to a good body shop and have em pull it...

if the dents are too bad, then just bondo them and repaint the car

thanks, if bumper's 50 bucks, that wouldn't be a prob, but the dents, not sure how much would it cost to bring it on a shop and fix all of it.

Default FV-QR

Start piecing it together to fix it.

http://www.car-part.com

You will probably need to repaint some items that you find as replacements too.

certa-fit has front bumpers hoods, fenders, rear bumpers.

I bought a whole 99-00 civic front end for 130. They dont come painted but their new and their knockoffs once you get it painted you wont be able to tell the difference body shops use them all the time

The site I linked is a salvage yard search engine. It covers the US, Canada and Mexico. It's very likely you will find a yard local to you. I've used it before.

Just get the bumper sanded and repainted. There is a different thread for paint/body.

i need to stitch it and put some fiber glass on the crack, too much work plus the paint, it might be cheaper to buy a new bumper, i looked it up on certifit, it's only 32 bucks and there's a branch near my place.

Make your search a little less specific.

I usually search the car and the part and then list by items closest. Then I read through what local places might have and decide if anything is worth it.

Don't narrow it by city, county, state, whatever. It only makes the results not come up a lot of times and might not include other parts which are closer to you but out of that range.

My brother has a certifit bumper on his Integra after coming back from a body shop. Fitment is terrible. He and I spent an hour on it but it doesn't look any better.
