Default Denso 471-1420 vs. 471-7050 AC compressor difference

I'm trying to find the proper AC compressor for my 99 Civic Si. When I look up the Honda part number on hondapartsunlimited.com, it's listed as 38810-P9K-E01. When I look this part number up on Ebay, none of the sellers that have this compressor list my car as being compatible, only Acura Integra. I contacted one of the sellers and I was told that either the Denso 471-1420 or Sanders 471-7050 will work. A search for 471-7050 also shows up as a Denso part number on Amazon. One of the reviews for the 7050 states "this will reduce drag to your engine when the ac clutch engage UNLIKE the scroll type of ac compressor that you could really feel the stress it gives to your engine when it kick and TURNs' on." ...Strange use of capitalization and grammar, but is what he says true? Is the 7050 better?

Happened across this thread via google and have some input (sorry it's a year late)...

- The Denso 471-1420 is the Denso-brand replacement compressor for the Si
- The Denso 471-7050 is the Denso-brand replacement compressor for the other trim levels that came with the Sanden compressor.

The two are not interchangeable without swapping hoses and possibly ac brackets. Get the one that matches the style of compressor you already have, unless you plan on comparing part numbers of all pieces to do a conversion.

A year later... So Denso and Sanden are totatly different companies, yes? Denso just makes a unit that will replace a Sanden?

2 different set ups, meaning the Denso will not replace the Sanden?

The '99-00 Civic Si A/C compressor is similar to the '94-01 Integra compressor. The '96-00 DX/LX/EX/HX A/C compressor is different. Denso makes A/C compressors that replace either factory unit... you just have to order the correct one. So, YES... a Denso will replace the Sanden compressor.
