actually this is vehicle specific, not tech section.

i own a del sol and i think that they're really sweet i thought that they were chick cars until i took one for a test drive at my local honda dealer then the interior, suspension and the charm of the car caught me. i bought it and have enjoyed it since. not to mention cops pay a lot less attention to me in the sol than they did in my old CRX which is a big plus in my book SOL'S FTW

Scroll down and look at Sam Lockwood's green race car.
I've seen this car out at VIR and Summit Point. It's definitely not slow.
A Del Sol is what you make it.
Out of the box, it's a convertible EG. Lots of potential if you want to make it something.
If you like it, go on and get it. There aren't all that many cheap convertibles with the reliability of a Civic, and the huge Honda support base.

Re: (mysol)
I've always thought del sols are pretty tight, its just everyone tells me there chick cars and everyone will think I'm lame. I think they have hella tight lines, and look sick when they are modded

if this was the first thread i read, my first time on honda-tech...
needless to say.... i wouldn't be returning.
this thread sucks, and no del sols aren't chick cars. why are you going to ask a forum what THEY think about a car YOU have to drive.
and don't use "hella tight" ever again.

Just to make things straight the guy who owned the car before me did everything to the exterior before I bought the car, I'm only 16

Re: (solbrothers)
I honestly have to say this thought crossed my mind here recently before I bought my first del sol. After searching around for some good examples though...no way. A car is what you make it. It may be a chick car per say if you drove it around stock like a little flamer...but these here ain't chick cars

The early 305 Irocs are a joke (which is what you'll find mostly). The late 350s arent. Its just a lot of money to make one faster since they dont respond well to bolt ons. It takes head and cam to get them going, which is why you'll almost always come across stock ones with just exhaust work.

Re: (sasser43)
this kid at my school got a 97 Camaro SS when he was a sophmore. He bought it with his own money so I think thats pretty cool. That car was so ******* fast, ran hugh 13s, but I dont think he ever pushed it. Kinda a shame.

Nice to see a kid work for his car, and get a sweet one at that. Yea he should have been able to hit mid to low 13s. The Ram Air TA was rated at 13.15
