del sol wont go cant turn tires over in second
i have a 93 del sol si d16z6 5spd and ive been having some performance problems with it. simpel bolt ons it all so only weighs 2350lbs with me inside (150)
first off lets start with whats new on it
plugs, fuel filter, wires, it has correct fuel pressure, and new o2.it runs and idels fine.
now ive taken it to the track and have had horrible results. every one is telling me its the clutch but it doesnt seem to be. its loosing power in the high rpms i launch the car and it holds just fine, but as it revs it seems to looses power (wont turn the tires over in to second gear is that normal?) here is what one of my time slips looks like
this about what a average one is i have like 25 time slips all with in 1 tenth of each other can some one help me out
60 2.66 ranging usaly mid 2.5-2.59
330 7.339
1/8 11.134
mph 64.60
1000 14.417
1/4 17.210
mph 81.33

Re: del sol wont go cant turn tires over in second (craio)
when your at the track you don't want to chrip the tires in second or at all in fact. Loss of traction is no good and if your clutch isnt engaging as hard as your slammin gears that doesn't help much either but i dont see the problem that your having besides running a low 17 in a quarter mile but it is a d16z6 mainly stock besides a few things, but if you want faster results its either gonna be doing a swap of single cam turbo... both being badass choices

If you are trying to chirp second and cant do it something may be wrong such as a slipping clutch. Ive never met a manual car no matter how weak that couldnt lose second if you wanted to.
If your technique is bad, try powershifting. NO question it should break loose going into second doing this. Just keep the gas peddle down while you shift normally (still use the clutch just halfway down, shift, and up as fast as you can). Done properly this is no harder on your drivetrain than launching.

Re: del sol wont go cant turn tires over in second (KSE)
like you said i have never met a car who wouldnt turn em over in second either... so i dont know whats going on. i tryed to test the clutch out like some one told me to go in 1st until your ready to shift and instead put it in first. it doesnt free rev it bogs right away. ive tryed power shiffting it as well nothing changed street or track.
this has nothing to do with my driving either i was using the time slip as a way to help find the power loss. the car all so has new bushings up front and hayame coilovers. plus decent tires and a new cat. if you look at the times the 60 times tehy arent that bad for a stock del sol the best ive ever seen was a 2.4 something. would it be possible that it has jump a tooth or the ignition timing is off. i kinda ruled that out because i figured it would run like crap. i about have all my turbo kit piece but i dont want to put them on if there is a major motor problem going on.
