Del sol wire harness questions.
So i have been working on putting a new dash wire harness in. The harness i bought seems to be a auto harness and doesn't have the clutch sensor so the car wont start. Is there anyway around that or do i need to get a new del sol dash wire harness.

Do you still have the original harness? If so find the plug for the clutch switch, follow the wires back through the harness and depin them where they end, pin into new auto harness. failing that you could jump the 2 large wires in the plug that goes to the automatic shifter, but then it will always start.

I copied and pasted this from another thread
"To run the wires for the clutch switch the best thing to do is get the relay as well, you can de-pin it from a junked car, heres a pic of one we got for a friend's auto to manual swap in a '95 coupe http://i63.photobucket.com/alb...y.jpg
the yellow plug plugs into the clutch pedal switch, one black/red wire gets pinned into the large grey plug in the top drivers side corner of the firewall behind the fuse panel, the other black/red wire gets pinned into a green plug into the black of the fuse panel, the black white wire goes the steering column harness and the black wire coming from the yellow clutch switch plug has to be grounded somewhere, for the wires that need to be pinned in remove the identical wire that is in the plug now, the 2 black/red wires have different ends so you can't pin them in the wrong plugs. all this worked fine on '92 - '95 (EG) civics, i assume the del-sol will be the same or similar"

i am going to just do a bypass( anyone have direction on that) ... i still dont know what your saying about adding the clutch wire. Can i use my old harness clutch piece and if so what is the clutch piece and where does the wires go for the auto harness. also i still have hte manual relay in the car. I really dont know what to do. Do i just pull out the clutch plug and the wires you said?

Maybe i'm just not explaining myself very well, it would probably help if i had pictures, unfortunately my camera is in the shop right now so i can't take any, but you can do one of 2 things, you can either find the big plug that goes to the automatic shifter and jump the 2 biggest wires in it, or you can take the old harness, follow the wires coming from the plug that goes into the clutch pedal and see where the end up, remove this entire part of the harness, and add it to your auto harness. If you look at the pic in the link in my last post thats basically what you want to remove from your old harness.

If its a second switch on the clutch pedal you speak of then yes it goes to cruise control, that shouldn't affect anything as far as getting the car to start, cruise just wont work, or wont work properly.
