hey, i'm changing the clutch on my del sol vtec 94. I got one out, but the one connected to tranny w/half-shaft isn't coming out. does it just pop out like the other one?

there are two axels, one goes right to tranny, and other goes to intermediate/half-shaft which connects it to the tranny. does the half-shaft stay with the tranny when tranny comes out? or does the axel come out, then the half-shaft, then the tranny w/no axels attached?

help, the only thing holding my tranny in place is the axel/half-shaft connected to the left tire. all other bolts removed, tranny is only held in by placement dowels and the half-shaft. there is 1/2inch gap all around between tranny and case, nothing else holds it in. i hope to finish this project tomorrow morning --- 12 hours away.

i've searched and searched, and read faqs and guides but they don't help.

take a long screwdriver and pry it out from around the cup, its held in by a snap ring

should be 3 bolts holding the half shaft in. 3 bolts are bolted to the back of the block. i think they're 17mm bolts.

thanks so much, leaving home to go try removing axle again.

sounds like the axle is coming out, then the half-shaft, then the tranny.

Some people remove the axle first, then the intermediate/halfshaft, others remove both together as a unit, either way is fine.

i removed the half shaft and axle together as one unit. worked well, but was shocked how loose the half shaft mounting bolts were. thanks for the help.
