automatic delsol trunk/roof

yeah the install looks like a bitch... but i cant get any solid facts anywhere, all i find is huge forums of flames and lies about the tops, contradicting arguments....
no help anywhere... quite frusterating....
has anyone personally installed one of these? maybe an estimate of how many hours it took you?
is most of the dificulty the mounting of the unit? or the ecu?
to me it looks like the unit is just a matter or 2 pillars being mounted

i dont quite get why the ecu is difficult... wouldnt there just be like 2 wires to each button (like what 2 buttons?) and 2 wires to the parking break?

*edit* just a thought, but couldnt i just throw out the ecu, and have 12v running to each motor, a dif button for each motor?

like 1 button to raise trunk, 1 button to lower trunk, 1 button to shoot out roof grabber, 1 button to grab, 1 button to release, 1 button to ppop the roof up

sure alot of buttons... but it would work wouldnt it?

i think the "sir" is used in both europe n' japan. n' not all sir's had a transtop, it was just an option. i was gonna convert mine a long time ago, but chopping up a non-transtop del sol for transtop conversion causes the frame/body structure to be a bit more flimsy in my opinion. you rarely see a transtop converted del sol doing any track type driving/racing.

I have a VTEC which is the USA version. no drop in mine, it was stock B16A3 then i modified it a bit this is mine: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2093833

pretty nice ride. definatly alot of pictures ^.^
ive barly done anything to mine.... just the engine swap, lowered....
now im doing the trunk... thinger...
heck im still sporting the original paint and original 5 spoke honda mags
pretty low profile though. i pull up beside these body kitted "riced" civics with my b18c and then smoke them and they are like wtf
meh 1 project at a time... im only 21... plenty of time to go
did the engine swap last month was a crazy engine, not a single spec of varnishing under the valve cover
i love your front end. its so hard to find a decent body kit without the ugly 92-95 front circle lights in it....
up in canada we have 3 models that im aware of... the regular base model "del sol"
thn the del sol SI (wich is what mine is)
then the "Del Sol V-tec" wich i guess is the SIR? but im pretty sure its called VTEC here... maybe im crazy

i dont see why its that much more flimsy.... the only logical reason i can see for not usin git is cuz it adds like 150-200lbs... wich isnt practicle for racing....
i figure if i loose 100lbs, i can make up for it though.... woot annorexic logic

you'll be cutting into the frame to mount the lifting bars or like most people, they chop half of the del sol in half and weld the transtop rear on. thats what i mean by flimsy
