Default del Sol Tie Rod Brands

Hola. I ordered a crap ton of parts recently and forgot to order my tie rod ends, both inner and outer. So to make up for lost time I was just going to swoop them up at O'Reilly, however I have no clue which brand is best. They carry MasterPro which I know is ****, Import Direct, Rare Parts, and Beck/Arnley. Which should I get?

I'd like to get started on my steering refresh, but if none of those are quality brands should I just bite the bullet and order some Moog parts and wait? HardRace isn't an option, their parts are stupidly expensive.

Thanks in advance.

Moog would be the better option of those listed, but if you want to jump on the project yesterday, there's nothing wrong with B/A.

Raybestos pro series from rockauto worked well for me. I like sealed bearings.

Beck/Arnley is usually ok. Moog is absolute junk, I have no idea how they got the name they did. If you really want something that lasts though buy the OEM tie rod ends from Honda.

I recently got a moog tie rod for my teg, looks good, took it out of the box and it was made in japan so idk if it was made by the OE supplier or not. but usaully its seems parts made in japan are pretty decent, I can post pics if anyone wants them I haven't installed it yet.

^Take a pic. Sometimes Moog is 555/Sankei which is good, but usually it's just some off brand.

While it's true that most of the aftermarket relabels the nice thing about Beck/Arnley is a lot of the time you'll get an OEM part, often with the OEM sticker on the bag in a Beck/Arnley box. This is sadly rarely the case with Honda stuff, but usually true for Hyundai/Kia.

I'd say that's more telling of the build quality behind Korean cars than anything.

Correct. I just bought lower ball joints/control arms for the Rio I'm currently driving about a month ago. One of end of the box had a Beck/Arnley sticker. The side and the plastic bag inside both had Kia stickers, complete with Kia hologram.

And my statement still stands. What we all consider sub-par, off-brand parts, Korean car mfgs consider reasonable OEM mfgs.

Uhh, no. Beck/Arnley just buys the stuff from the OEM in this case. That Rio is a piece of junk, but the ball joints aren't bad. They lasted about 140,000kms on really rough roads driven hard. It's nowhere near a Honda, but it's certainly reasonable.

It was free! I'll also be back in a 5th gen hatch within a week.
