Del Sol Stalling Problem - Something Strange
I have a 1993 Del Sol Si D16Z6 automatic. Engine has been rebuilt and only has about 4000 miles on the rebuild. Recently, I've had an issue with a hot start on the car. I've searched and seen to clean the IACV, but so far that doesn't appear to be the problem. I have no codes on a CEL check. Distributor/cap/rotor are all clean. It has no issues starting cold; it fires right up, almost as soon as I turn the key. But when it's warm, however...it's like a whole other car. It's slow to turn over, and when it finally does, it'll idle at 200 for a split second and then spontaneously die. All my fuel checks out, I don't spy any issues there. Throttle body is clean, sensors are all good, intake filter is replaced...Also, yesterday it did it to me and it made the awful hissing sound like you try and turn the key while the car is running WITHOUT (No I am not crazy, this actually happened) me turning the key or even touching it. I have to hold the car at 3000 RPM's for a few seconds to keep it from stalling out and dying on me. Once the idle smooths out, it's good to go and runs like normal. Any ideas what to do now? I'm out of ideas. And all the spark plugs are brand new, before that comes up.
