Del Sol Short Shifter
I am thinking of buying a Skunk2 short shifter, probably the Dual Bend one. What im worried about is that the length of the shifter, I saw this one video online and it was an after market shifter that was ALOT higher than the stock shifter in a del sol. I juss want some insight on this cuz i like my shifter at least stock high but prefferably lower. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

anybody????

Re: Del Sol Short Shifter (delvic)
it probably had a civic or integra shifter in it, because those sit a little taller then stock del sol shifters.

Re: Del Sol Short Shifter (delvic)
just grab it lower down the shaft when you shift for racing...

Re: Del Sol Short Shifter (MNEJ2GUY)
ok, a short shifter isn't meant to necessarily be shorter in height than stock. it's meant to shorten the throw. it's a lever.... what really matters is how much longer it is below the bushing (under the car). having a shifter that sits down in the boot does less than something stock height with a longer axis (like the skunk2)

I have the dual bend Skunk for my Sol and it sits very high almost as if it were meant for a Civic, i'm getting rid of mine. Had a DC before but bearing split so I grabbed the Skunk one and am not pleased. Might get the single bend. Just my thoughts.

</TD></TR></TABLE> First off stop trying to jack this thread do a fucking search this has been covered so many times i cant begine to count! As for the short shifter i have a single bend one and it works just fine, dosent hit the exhaust in the least and sits pretty comfortable. It came with the car so i dont know what a stock one would sit but id imagine it would be right around the same. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: Del Sol Short Shifter (delvic)
Dont Put a integra Shifter of any kind in your Delsol Cause it will be Super Long, I just did that last summer and boy was I upset when the Shifter looked like one of those brand New Si.
