Default Del Sol Roof Rubber Seals

Ok I searched and found some posts on this topic but they didnt have the info I needed. My question is what could i put on the rubber roof seals to help "condition" them. My sol sits outside and sees a lot of sun and they are starting to dry out and crack. I need to do something cause I dont feel like having leaks or spending $500+ to get new ones, there has to be something I can use on them to keep them from dry rotting or getting UV damage, anyone have any good suggestions? Thanks in advance

I have used clear silicone spray to lubricate and protect my rubber seals. I have also used clear flexible silicone caulk to fix some minor tears. If the seals have not been maintained properly before, you will see a lot of dirt and black gunk coming off the seals.

try a silicone grease or i know its hard to find them but check some junkyards. there might be a sol or two floating around that you could possibly buy and have a spare set. worst case scenario your gonna have to end up buying new ones...

Go to your nearest dealership's parts desk and ask for Shin-Etsu grease; Honda part #08798-9013. This the best stuff to use on your seals. Take care of them because it's quite expensive to replace them.

This stuff is great:

http://www.1z-usa.com/einszett_gummi_pflege.html
Gummi Pflege Stift is german for "Rubber Care Stick"

It works best if you use it before the rubber cracks. I repair cracks with silicone aquarium sealant.
