Del sol rear disk conversion. Squishy pedal. Help!
Ok I just got done putting rear disk brakes on my sol. Everything bolted up fine and smooth. I've bleed the brakes 4 times. No air. Problem is, is when I push the pedal in the pedal does not hold. It slightly falls to the floor. Would doing rear disk conversion make the master fail? Or does it need bench bleed? Please help

when i do my conversion civic ex 97, the only thing i change was a 40/40 si prop valve, all other stock. Take me a good time to get it properly bleed but
never have pressure lost.
Try to bleed the system again.

90-91 EX Master Cylinder is what you need. Bolts right up.

check the size in the side of your MC if is 13/16 you need to change it. Is it 7/8 or 15/16 you don't need to replace it.

I'll check that. But it's stock from a 93 del sol s. either way if the seals are bad it needs replaced. But never had that issue with drums

I also bleed the system. RR FL RL RF. people said that's the right way. But I always thought it was the farther from master to the closest

Del Sol S will use the 13/16" MC. I don't know how many times it has to be said so YES CHANGE YOUR MASTER CYLINDER.

What front brakes? If they're the stock 9.5" small brakes 13/16ths is what you want. If they're non ABS EX brakes you want a 7/8MC and if they're Integra or '92 - '95 EX/Si ABS calipers you want a 15/16MC.

Gah. Bad info here. No need to change MC. 92-95 Civic Si has rear disks and the MC is the same as all the other Civics with drums. If you had upgraded the FRONT brakes, then it's a different story. Read here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/showpo...70&postcount=3
However, this doesn't help your problem. But, I don't know what would. I had this once when I replaced a set of rear disc calipers on my 93 Si ... but thankfully I had another set on hand that worked fine so I didn't end up diagnosing the issue.

Did you bench bleed the MC? If you didn't, there is still air trapped with the MC itself. No matter how many times you bleed the brake fluids at the calipers, you WILL NOT get it all done without it.
