=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

for anyone interested we're getting a batch of harness bars made for del sol's. here's a pic of one installed (no this isn't my car).. for more pics check out http://www.rose-hulman.edu/~davisbc/car/harnessbar/

we need 3 more people before we can get the machining started on these bars. they're only $130 shipped (we need $30 to reserve a bar for you). email/paypal briandavis@t2u.com if you're interested. for more details and the original post check out http://www.hondavision.com/showthrea...ht=harness+bar

Looks awesome, but how does it mount (seatbelt holes i assume?) also, does it do anything for the rigidity of the car, cause thats the sole reason i am interested. Lastly, how much does it hinder the reclining of the seats? thanks

yep, bolts into the stock seat belt holes.. here's a closeup of the bracket..

they do slightly stiffen the car as you now have a bar running from pillar to pillar but that's not their major function, it's to have a place to attach your harness.

about reclining, here's a pic that gives you an idea of where the bar will sit in relation to the seat.
i don't actually have a bar yet (that's why i posted this, i'm trying to get some made) but someone that does have one said that with his seat all the way back there was only about a 4 inch difference between having the bar and not having it.. basically, it makes no difference when driving.. at least no one i know has their seat all the way back AND reclined all the way when driving.. even the tallest guys i know wouldn't need to recline the seat enough to hit the bar..

check out zeuser's pics in this post.. http://www.hondavision.com/showthrea...5&pagenumber=3

the stock del sol rollbar is VERY beefy and should stand up fine to most rollover's.. remember tho, the primary purpose of these bars/harnesses is for auto-x'ing, not road racing/lapping days OR daily driving.. if you're THAT concerned about rolling your car and don't think the stock rollbar is sufficient than i'd definately recommend buying a rollbar, but for auto-x'ing these bars will serve their purpose quite well. i know i currently slide all over the place while auto-x'ing and i'd definately benefit from being strapped in tighter so i can actually focus on driving the course and not bracing myself. i will be buying a bar as it will be VERY useful for me and i encourage any fellow sol auto-x'ers that have problems sliding around in the cabin to join in this buy..

kail and showspeed, if you're interested hit up brian (briandavis@t2u.com) and get your deposits in so we can get these started..

t-blaze, i'm not sure how much shipping to london would be.. you should email brian as well and see what kinda price he can get from usps (usps is generally the cheapest for oversea's shipping from my experience). shipped an intake mani to austrailia for $25!

excellent.. thank you sir..

chiboy, i haven't done the measurements so i'm unsure whether this would work for an eg or not.. you could always pick one up and sell it to someone with a delsol if it doesn't work out for ya! =P
